Project Management
Mission
- To develop and maintain a comprehensive master project schedule for a space consolidation project from start-up coordination through employee move-in. Managed tasks including, but not limited to project administration, design development and documentation, construction activities, vendor selection, furniture installation, relocation and occupancy.
- To join an established team (owner, architect, construction manager, IT, other vendors and move management staff) and enhance their ability to work as a cohesive team with a single purpose.
- To identify opportunities for process improvement throughout the project and relocation management process
Challenges
- Developing phasing plans to move people within floors as well as from floor to floor including swing space.
- Remaining sensitive to issues of security and employee confidentiality during the renovation, which are inherent in some of the departments being affected.
- Remaining flexible to unavoidable project delays and keeping construction and relocation activities on track.
- Coordinating all activities within an occupied space and in conjunction with ongoing projects including tenant improvements and department reorganizations.
Value Added
- Supporting the local facility manager in all efforts to help streamline the process.
- Assisting EPA in the consolidation of their departments for more efficient use of space.
- Assisting GSA in the release of approximately 26,000 SF of office space resulting in a considerable mount of savings in rent.
- Conducting a Master Scheduling Meeting to bring the project team together and help encourage cooperation between local and national agency entities for EPA and GSA.
